![]() It gives you the most control over that of all the photo synching programs. That's what it does, and Mylio uses a system sort of like Adobe's where it can synch lower res JPEGs to some devices, raw files to others. I'm not sure what you mean by "stop duplication" since you seem to want to sync images. Well, the Seagate drive + that plan is less expensive than a lot of applications you've churned through, and at least after you move on you've got a drive. My mylio what’s to stop duplication if say I sync an iPhone and Photos? Mylio doesn’t appear to have a mid tier plan, unless I purchase a Seagate drive! It also removed Smart Albums (for saved searches) which is a significant backwards step for me. I do like On1 for editing, but it’s buggy as hell. ![]() I want my photos available everywhere, but not use Photos which I hate. I have iCloud Photos enabled in order to use Photos Mac to pull images off to nas. Because of all the moves my albums have been destroyed but I do have tags (sidecar flies) and currently have: I am one of those users who’s gone from iPhoto to Aperture to Lightroom to Capture 1 to On1 Raw. I’ve seriously considering mylio, but am a bit confused regarding it. You’re not the only one who’s become stuck on the initial setup. The setup process can be a little complicated and they’re working hard to improve that. Michael, from Mylio support, will come into your computer, share your screen and walk you through the process. I hesitate to walk you through the setup process since I’ve basically only done it once, several years ago, and that was with help from Mylio support. Unfortunately I’ve not created a Lightroom catalog from the same group of images within Mylio. ![]() Many thanks for your attention and prospective help. Wondering if you could give me some clues or point me to a clear and precise manual for setup of Mylio for use in these conditions. I figured I would use tiny external SSD as main site for all photos and have smaller versions on LR Classic and Photos, but that didn't seem to be what was happening. But I am still thinking about and figured I screwed up somewhere in the setup of Mylio, so need guidance on the setup. Was able recover from previous and congeal backups on Time Machine and CCC, but I gave up on Mylio as result. ![]() In trying to consolidate with Mylio, last week I ran into trouble when I set up a "Vault" on an external SSD and somehow it MOVED photos out of my LR Classic library. I use Photos on iPhone a lot and less so on iPad, and I use LR Classic (current) on MacBook Pro. Noticed that you do a lot of work with and for Mylio, so thought I'd ask directly, what is the best way to set up Mylio to deal with both LR Classic and Apple Photos. Th is not another piece of software like it and they recently reduced their subscription plan to a $99.00/year. I can’t say enough good things about a Mylio. Mylio syncs across my 10 devices and it could be more if I added them. I have 1.2 million images on an 256gig iPhone. Saving space on your iOS devices is a huge bonus. Do you want the cloud option? If not, everything you listed as things you would like Mylio does extremely well. You mention issues regarding cloud storage options and yet at the end you ask about something that works off the “Public Cloud”. In this case, is the only viable option Mylio? Does anyone have a workflow with these requirements that works off Public Cloud? I also need to save space on many of my devices (especially iOS) and only need lo-res for most devices unless I am editing, etc. Hesitant to upgrade to Apple Cloud Photos or Google Photos because of privacy and the tendency for services to lose things. I have used the Mac and iOS photos apps locally with iCloud Sync and iTunes Sync.
